  • David Wright's new album "The Lost Colony" Arriving May, featuring the Matt Howarth sci-fi novella.

This enhanced CD contains 68 minutes of new music by David Wright. And it includes the Matt Howarth sci-fi novella ‘The Lost Colony’ available as a pdf file. David Wright’s unique style is perfect for this project because it helps capture the journey so vividly presented by Matt Howarth sci-fi novell. And because the adventure on the desert world is so expertly crafted by Matt Howarth, David Wright’s music is an interpretation not a soundtrack. So we are confident that you will enjoy both, because they work so well together. “A colony ship landed on their target world but find it is not what they were led to expect. So life is a harsh struggle, a seemingly losing battle against the local environment. Because a glimmer of salvation arises, the colonists must overcome fatalism and so fight to support hope of survival”. • New Klone album "Alive" on kscope arrives on Double Vinyl and CD on the 11th June.

French atmospheric rockers Klone have built their name on making music that’s as deeply introspective as it is sonically powerful. Known for their trademark dark guitar tones and epic brooding soundscapes, the band signed with Kscope in 2019 before releasing their first album with the label, Le Grand Voyage, that same year to critical praise. Now, for the first time in the band's career, Klone are releasing a live album. Recorded between two different shows at Sjiwa in Baarlo, The Netherlands in October 2016 and at Moloco in Audincourt, France in November 2019 respectively, Alive captures the true essence of Klone and includes stunning performances of the singles `Yonder' and 'Breach’. Engineered by the band’s live sound engineer Chris Edrich and Mastered by Pierrick Noel, the band describe the moment as “a way to pay tribute to our audience and the people who support us.” As we await live music to return on a large scale, this is a timely reminder of what a superb live band Klone are. Featuring recordings which represent the band’s most popular material whilst giving testimony to the shows recorded during the period between 2015’s Here Comes The Sun and 2020’s Le Grand Voyage. Order CD £12.99 and Double Vinyl £22.99 Released 11th June.

  • New Release from Spotted Peccary from Johan Agebjörn & Mikael Ögren - Artefact arrives early June.

Intrepid sonic journeymen and celebrated electronic artists, Johan Agebjörn and Mikael Ögren return with their second collaborative release Artefact on the Spotted Peccary Music label. As with their previous collaboration, We Never Came to the White Sea, which chronicled a road trip through the wooded expanse of the Russian Karelia, once part of Finland, Artefact, is an unofficial soundtrack inspired by Arthur C. Clarke’s classic novel Rendezvous with Rama, where the artists explore another wilderness: the unknowable vastness of space. Just as Clarke’s novel conjured images for Johan and Mikael, Artefact manifests images for the listener—of the wide-skied stillness of a strange planet’s surface, or of standing alone on an unexplored moon and feeling silver sand sift through your fingers. Sounds from the past three decades unite to evoke this austere future. The warm pulse of vintage synthesizers blends with the steely atmospherics and electronic sounds of a modern sci-fi soundtrack. With styles ranging from ambient to trance, Artefact also features collaborations with fellow electronic musicians Between Interval and Le Prix, as well as ethereal soprano vocals from Martina Björk. Artefact is both peaceful and propulsive, a journey through the tension and beauty of space exploration, the fear and curiosity of alien contact, the majesty of stars and the great swaths of emptiness between them.

  • Louisa John-Krol - Elderbrook and Torlan. Arriving May

I became aware of Louisa John-krol when I stocked an album by Oophoi (Gianluigi Gasparetti who sadly died some years ago) & Louisa John Krol ‎ "I Hear The Water Dreaming" on the French label Prikosnovénie. For me her voice and style is akin to Kate Bush but I'll let you make your own opinion on that. Throw in a bit of Loreena McKennitt and there you have it. Elderbrook, a double CD album, will form part of the Elderbrook Chronicles, a story over 4 books of which Elderbrook forms the musical side. Genre: Fantasy, Faery. Original release date 2017. Visit Louisa John-Krol's website for more info or her Bandcamp page for back catalouge albums. Torlan is Welsh for ‘from the riverbank’. Celebrating water magic - nymphs, nixies, nereids, mermaids, island witches - we’ve gathered songs of seas, lakes and rivers from many of our albums. Between each song is a recording of water. Listen for waterbirds, discover wetlands, dream of voyages beyond the estuary, rest by a stream, trace a forest lane in the rain … The opening track, ‘Birrarung’, is Wurundjeri for ‘river of mists and shadows’, and describes the Yarra Yarra River. Cover art is an oil painting, ‘Water Bird’, by Louisa’s mother, Belinda John, an award-winning artist in Australia. Symbolising innocence and hope, the heron unites habitat with heritage. The photographic lyric booklet, in an eco-friendly pocket within panels of recycled material, is laced with quotations of poetry from various cultures and centuries. Genre: ethereal, classical-ambient-folk, aquatic dream pop, faerie, poetic, elemental.
